Today (February 7, 2019) we remember that 200 years ago the Alcalde of the Villa de Alburquerque recommended to Governor Melgares that the Canon de Carnue Land Grant include an additional settlement other than San Miguel de Carnue. The land grant would include a settlement at San Antonio de Padua at the site of the old pueblo.
